Kaya is a Post-Doctoral College Fellow and an Assistant Professor at Harvard University. Kaya’s areas of research include ethnographic methods, race, incarceration, mental health, municipal governance, law enforcement, and U.S.-based ethnography.

Boston native Niambe McIntosh, daughter of legendary reggae musician and activist @petertosh, lost her brother Jawara to the war on cannabis.
Niambe continues her father’s work to destigmatize cannabis in honor of her late brother and in the service of the thousands of families across America who are oppressed by the war on cannabis. We’re honored to have her as a member of our curating council.
