Seed 2 Soul

For over 80 years, cannabis cultivation has existed in the shadows, shaped by prohibition and resistance. Seed 2 Soul explores how this history has influenced the plant’s genetics, chemistry, and cultural significance. Through immersive displays, this exhibition reveals the intricate relationship between cannabis, the earth, and the human body.
Genetics

Genetics

Prohibition reshaped cannabis genetics, favoring high-THC strains while reducing biodiversity. Learn how breeders adapted, why the indica vs. sativa debate is outdated, and how today’s cultivators are restoring lost landrace varieties.
Propagation

Propagation

From seed germination to cloning and tissue culture, discover the methods used to preserve cannabis cultivars. See how cultivators create genetically identical plants and why tissue culture is revolutionizing the industry.
Roots

Roots

Turn the world upside down and explore the underground network of cannabis roots. Soil scientist Dr. James White reveals how mycorrhizal fungi enhance plant communication, growth, and nutrient absorption.
Soil

Soil

Beneath our feet lies a world more complex than we ever imagined. This exhibit dives into the rhizophagy cycle, where plants “farm” microbes for survival, and examines the impact of chemical farming on cannabis cultivation.
Light

Light

Indoor vs. outdoor—what difference does it make? Learn how growers manipulate light spectrums to influence growth, potency, and cannabinoid production, and explore the environmental impact of indoor cultivation.
Vegetative Growth

Vegetative Growth

What does it take to raise a healthy cannabis plant? This exhibit explores the ideal conditions for growth, from temperature and humidity to water consumption—revealing why cannabis is one of the most water-intensive crops.
Sonification

Sonification

Plants make music. Using conductivity sensors, this interactive display translates plant activity into sound, letting you hear the subtle changes in a cannabis plant’s internal processes in real time.
Flowering

Flowering

The final stage before harvest—this exhibit explores trichomes, the chemical factories of cannabis. See how these tiny structures produce cannabinoids, terpenes, and flavonoids that give cannabis its potency and aroma.
Flowering

Extraction

Edibles, concentrates, vapes—how does raw cannabis become these products? Explore the science behind extraction, from solvent-based methods to full-spectrum concentrates, and learn how different techniques impact the final product.
Evolution of Vape

Evolution of Vapes

Vaping has come a long way. Learn about the controversies, safety improvements, and technology behind modern cannabis vaporizers, and how they differ from traditional e-cigarettes.
The Endocannabinoid System

The Endocannabinoid System

Did you know the human body is designed to interact with cannabis? The ECS regulates mood, pain, and memory using cannabinoids—some of which are even found in breast milk. Learn how this system works and its role in health and wellness.
Trichome Room

Trichome Room

Step inside an immersive sensory experience where glowing trichomes pulse to music and poetry. Created in collaboration with visual artists and poets, this room invites you to experience cannabis at a microscopic level.
Harvest exhibit monitor

Harvest

Pistils, trichomes, and timing—harvest is an art. See how cultivators determine peak ripeness and why proper drying, curing (and maybe musical accompaniment) are essential for flavor, potency, and overall quality.

Past Exhibition

American Warden

The current collection, American Warden, urges guests to scrutinize incarceration in America against the backdrop of cannabis prohibition. While many states have now legalized or decriminalized cannabis, the number of arrests for possession and distribution are still alarmingly high and Thousands of humans are currently incarcerated for cannabis related offenses. These facts are disturbingly juxtaposed against the multibillion-dollar cannabis industry that currently benefits industry giants as well as state and federal tax authorities.
american warden

American Warden

Despite being home to only 5% of the world’s population, America houses 25% of the world’s inmates. This fact lends the exhibition its title and is accompanied by a stark visual representation of how race impacts incarceration rates. It culminates in the alarming reality that any American male born after 2001, regardless of race, has a 1:13 chance of ending up behind bars. #YourBrother #YourSon #YourFather #You
Graffiti Wall

Graffiti Wall

The indoor graffiti wall is a rotating exhibit expressing our deep appreciation for the powerful medium of street art. Our first installation is a mural by Corey Pane who is well known for his Juice World album artwork for Legends Never Die. He has also achieved global recognition for his moving artistic tribute to Nipsey Hussle. #RIPNipsey

Plain View

Think you have rights related to your home, your body, your car, your purse? Think again. Unsubstantiated claims that the government saw or smelled cannabis rob you of these fundamental American ideals.
Seed Your Garden

Seed Your Garden: Illicit Cultivation

This homage to illicit cultivation operations explains the evolution of cultivation technology over the years. The “black market” cultivation space built into this exhibit is a replica of those often built by prohibition growers who hid them in basements, attics, secret rooms and many other creative places in an attempt to avoid persecution. Guests can learn how breeding under these conditions impacted cannabis genetics, chemistry and culture.

Seed Your Soul

This interactive exhibit introduces guests to just a handful of artists who have been persecuted for the use of this powerfully creative plant. Scan the QR Codes at the podium to download the user generated Spotify playlist, “Seed Your Soul,” and suggest a song of your own to add to this crowd sourced collection of cannabis jams.
Seed Your Senses: Terpene Wall

Seed Your Senses: Terpene Wall

Terpenes, or terpenoids, are the aromatic compounds in cannabis that give the plant its unique fragrance. In precisely the same way that aromatherapy can impact our mood- it is the combination of terpenoids and cannabinoids that endow each strain with a specific psychoactive personality. This interactive exhibit invites guests to physically experience the most common sativa-type and indica-type terpenes.
Seed Your Head: Jail Cell

Seed Your Head: Jail Cell

Immerse yourself in the hypocrisy of America’s fractured relationship with Cannabis by stepping inside the Jail Cell exhibit. Guests are encouraged to sit inside this exhibit, feel the visceral effects of incarceration and learn about real people whose lives were derailed by American drug policy. #JusticeforJawara
Paraphernalia

Paraphernalia

This collection of donated paraphernalia depicts how the these culturally sacred objects have been used to subvert Fourth Amendment Protections against unreasonable search and seizure.

Raids & Rage

Sit back and watch your tax dollars at work as government agents ravage cannabis fields with expensive helicopters and destructively raid legal dispensaries.

The heart of the exhibition

The heart of the exhibition is the story of Jawara Tosh, youngest son of legendary reggae artist and founding member of the Wailers, Peter Tosh.

In a story so poetic it defies reality, his sister Niambe McIntosh recounts how Jawara lost his life to the inequitable system his father so urgently railed against in his music.
